Auckland II
The drive from Bay of Plenty back to Auckland was quite a novelty for me - being the first long distance drive I've done since passing my test 3 years ago...hmmm. Actually the driving isn't too bad, it's all the bloody manouvering when I got into Auckland... At one point I was hanginng off an edge of a kerb by my sexy white 'alloys' (and yes it did take a load of paint off), swearing, sweating while some idiotic do-gooder guy was grinning inanely and telling me "YOU TOOK A BIT OF PAINT OFF LUV", whilst energetically gesturing at me to "TURN MY WHEEL HAAAARD". it wasnt what i wanted to see/hear.
Went into some vintage shops on 'K-road' (red light area but pretty cool) and got a funky top (featured in the soon-to-added photos of me with bungeye - my car).
Stayed over with David, Mary and Ruth Williams which was lovely - had gorgeous steak.... thanks guys.
Next morning left for Bay of Islands via Goat Island at Leigh....

The original bungeye - jackie's weepy-eyed cat. It's real name is actually 'Holom' after Michael when he was a toddler and used to yell "Can I holom?" [...imagine "hold him" with a kiwi accent...]

Me and Phoebe draped over Bungeye II (in David and Mary's yard)
